So the past few days have been consumed with researching and booking various aspects of our trip, so knitting time has been a little neglected.
But of course I managed to squeeze in a little.

Taking photos of your own heel is not an easy task. But isn’t it a pretty heel?
This is the first time I’ve done a heel that isn’t plain, slipped or eye of partridge. I’m not sure how it will wear, but I love the way it looks.
Twinkie of course, demands equal air time.
Saturday sky.

A perfect blue. Unfortunately it’s still a bit cool, but it looks gorgeous, doesn’t it?
I had a visitor, but every time I tried to take a picture, he turned away.

Only a magpie, but I’m easily amused.
LOVE the heel on that sock! Looks fabulous!
Wow, very tricky and pretty sock there! I keep meaning to take my camera along when I’m out lately – there are huge flocks of sulphur-crested cockatoos around at the moment, which I must try to ‘catch’. Don’t you just love magpie song? Just about my favourite Aussie sound.
The heel looks good. I bet it will wear just fine.
the sock looks awsome… LOVE the cables!!
we have those birds here too…
The heels of my socks always felt because of my shoes, so I’ve never bothered with a fancy heel. But yours makes me think that it might be worth trying, if only to enjoy it while I’m knitting…
love the fancy heel! the sock is coming along so nicely – the pattern looks difficult….
I’m giggling as I imagine how you possibly managed to get that pic. If it was me I know I would have fallen over multiple times.
The sock is incredibly pretty. You will have to tell us how the heel wears.
Fabulous socks!
Love that sock, gorgeous colour but the cables look fascinating,Twinkie must think so too!!
that is a very pretty heel.
Love that sky! It looks a bit like that here today, a perfect blue.
Both the heel and the photo of the heel are fantastic. It’s my ambition to take a sock heel photo as good as that.
You are going to have a blast in America!
I really love that sock, esp the colour. And I am insanely jealous of your trip to the US. Perhaps I’ll stow away in your suitcase. It would have to be a big one, but I reckon you’ll be taking empty ones to hold all the yarn you’ll buy over there.
And you must get a picture of you and Wendy’s cat.
I love the socks, I hae never knitted any other heels either, these look fabulous!!!
