I have worked on the Hemlock Ring Blanket this weekend. Not non-stop, but a lot.
But it hasn’t grown much at all.
Last night, I began row 92, which is a pattern row. There I was, merrily knitting along, when I suddenly realised that I had far too many stitches in just one of the repeats.
I’d gotten a bit cocky on the last couple of rows, so I’d knitted along without bothering to count too much. And I stuffed it up. So badly that I couldn’t fudge it and fix it up.
I had to rip back 10 rows.
Doesn’t sound like much, does it? How about when it’s around 400 stitches per round? I sat up until 1am, and have only just now, at 3pm, got back up to row 93. And started the second hank.
But I had to stop, it’s 32.5C right now, and I can’t bear having it in my lap any longer!
But I do have other knitting news.
Look Ma, no needles! Blocking tomorrow, with my new blocking wires. Stay tuned!
Oh bugger about having to rip out 10 rows, heart-breaking when it’s THAT MANY STITCHES.
It’s 31 degrees (88 F) here today – 12 above average! So I sympathise about knitting in the heat. Ugh.
Can’t wait to see the pink one blocking – all its magic shall be revealed!
I know hoe you feel as yesterday I did a blunder on the crochet shawl and well had quite a bit to go back on.
The heat was a tead uncomfortable out your way today as for our madness we went out there to get lunch and donuts after the airport.
Just about that time, I would have bought the Mirrydancers to make myself feel better 😉
Hurry up and block the Hanging Garden. Love the colour!
Can’t wait to see the shawl all blocked out. It’s still quite cool here in Perth. In fact, it rained so much on Sat that it felt like winter.
Can’t wait to see the Hanging Garden Stole all blocked and beautiful. :o) That’s a bum about the Hemlock Blanket.
Thank goodness that so far I still only have around 160 stitches on my Hemlock ring blanket. I’ve been making mistakes just about every pattern row so far, probably due to being distracted by my gorgeous grandaughter. I love the blanket in that colour.
God that’s a lot of work!!
Now, where does one purchase ‘new blocking wires’? I want some!
The Hemlock Ring blanket looks wonderful, and that hank of ecoyarn is huge isnt it. I love the pattern. Do you need to purchase it from Jared or is it in a book. Could you let me know. By the way what is your ravelry name so I can add you to my friends list.
At least you’re back on track now. It must have been frustrating to have to rip out so much though. Can’t wait to see the stole!
