SnB was great, exactly what I needed. Who’s coming to the exhibition? Details are here. The more the merrier, we’d love to see heaps of people, bloggers or blogless, makes no difference, just stop by and say hello!
I finished the little bear on Saturday, but I made a mistake.
I had sewn up the whole body, then I realised that it was inside out and the purl side was supposed to be the correct side.
But I didn’t care enough to rip out the seaming!
She still looks cute. So at SnB, I knitted up her little dress.

Isn’t she cute? The seaming of such little bits was more than a little tedious, but now that she’s done she was worth it. I might even knit another.
The pattern I used was “Elizabeth and Heidi” from The Knitted Teddy Bear. Her body is knit in Patons Dreamtime 4ply in shade 3882, and her dress is Elann’s “Peruvian Baby Cashmere” in Rose Heather.
I first saw the Knitted Teddy Bear book on Woolwinders blog quite some time ago. I’m glad I purchased it, because there are a great many cute little bears in there.
Having finished the bear, I’ve been busy at work on the Mothers Day socks. I’ve finished the foot, and I’m ready to start the toe shaping.

I promise I won’t leave the kitchener quite so long this time, Teyani!
Twinkie’s been busy hiding under the table again.

I think she’s waiting for the Easter bunny.

  1. your teddy bear is such a cutie! now i think i need to dig up my teddy bear book….btw, is twinkie house broken? if so how’d you do it? my daughter has a lopped ear boy bunny who seems pretty smart, but i’m wary about letting him loose in the house-keep wanting to follow him around…..

  2. That teddy bear is adorable…. makes you want to jump into bed and cuddle with it!
love the twinkie pic too… what a sweet bunny, I wish I could bring mine into the house and let them out and about… my dogs would probally scare them to death 🙁

  3. Em is giving those socks to you for mothers day, right???
Probably not, but I like them. All pink and pretty.
Twinkie is sitting there waiting for you to drop the socks so she can add bunny fur. Nothing is complete without fur ;p

  4. I think I prefer it “inside out”. I’m not a big fan of purl fabric being the right side, though it does have it place I guess.
    Twinkie is adorable as usual.

  5. That bear looks fantastic as a knit-side bear. Plus that zesty dress makes her feel fancy anyway, she doesn’t mind that she’s not like the bears in the book, she likes being unique. I’d watch out though, maybe she won’t want to listen to instructions either now.

  6. I love teddy bears and she’s gorgeous. Looks really fiddly to make but you’re way more patient than me……
