Happy Saturday!

Yet another gorgeous one here in sunny Sydney.
Due to a stomach bug that hit me yesterday afternoon, I haven’t enjoyed it much, but I’m feeling a bit better now. Not much knitting has been done, either, but I did get a start on Faina’s Scarf.

Not much of a start, but a start! I’m really enjoying the Jo Sharp Alpaca Silk Georgette. It’s a nice soft yarn to knit with, and I think that it has good stitch definition for a project like this.
The second Bloomin’ Sock is moving along nicely.

The heel is done, and pretty soon I’ll be moving on down the foot. (I just typoed that as hell, but really, it wasn’t that bad!)
Due to all that lovely rain we had earlier in the week, we actually have glimpses of green in our yard.

Twinkie is doing her best to single handedly eradicate it.

  1. I find that fiber can always make everything better! Because of the large amount of dogs in the neighborhood, not to mention the 2 mastiffs next door, we cannot risk letting our fur-kids out. But if they could, they would probably attack the pear tree in the yard! Go ahead and mow down that grass for Mom and Dad, Twinkie!! 😉

  2. Sorry to hear you’ve not been well. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
The Faina’s Scarf looks as though it’s going to be lovely. Been wondering what the JS Alpaca Silk Georgette was like.

  3. We are actually having a nice sunny day here too. What a treat, considering the gray overcast days we’ve had most of the winter. Lovely start to the scarf. The yarn looks perfect for it.

  4. One of the best parts about blogging is finding new bloggers to read. I checked in to the San Francisco – Sydney airfare and don’t think we can make it work for a $1 beaded purse. I enjoyed the photos of the opposite season and love love the Fern Garden Stole. Thanks for visiting the US.

  5. Great choice of yarn for Faina! It already looks good. And good picture of Twinkie-you know if you don’t have knitting content to show, you can always get away with Twinkie shots, don’t you? Too bad you can’t spin bunny fur.

  6. Faina’s Scarf is looking beautiful already – and the colour is perfect 🙂
I’m sure your bunny is loving the green grass – something that’s in short supply here in Canberra. I agree that a wet rainy day is the best time for knitting 😀

  7. That Faina’s scarf is going to be outstanding! I might *cough* have to steal it while it’s in transit.
Get batter! And may twinkie only eat part of the grass! And may you get an absolute stack of rain down your way as well (because all rain is good rain!)

  8. It’s odd to read about the gorgeous day there when here in Midwest US we’re digging outselves out of snow!
I really like the color you chose for your BF socks- I missed what color it was, but it’s quite nice!
