So Sunday morning we got up at the ridiculous hour of 4am to be at the Sydney Harbour Bridge ready to picnic at 6.30am.
That bit sucked.
Apart from that though, it was great fun! They had cows on the Bridge.

It was all quite surreal, really. Sitting on grass, on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with news helicopters circling about, and piped in sounds of kookaburras and crickets. But great fun, I highly recommend that all Sydneysiders try for tickets next year!
After some deliberation, we think that we are somewhere in the vicinity of the red circle in this picture

Such a cool idea! Glad you could go and give us a first hand look at it – the news didn’t show the cows!! But what about sheep? I think there should definitely have been sheep. And some roosters, to crow all morning!
(I don’t get those red hat ladies – I thought the point of the poem was to be different, to buck the old lady stereotype – when all they are doing is creating a new one. Oh well. Maybe they think that about us knitters!!)

Wow, I bet that was a cool experience! Grassing over a whole stretch of bridge – with such a view! I wish something like that would work in the US (but there aren’t that many bridges with Spectacular Views, and whichever city was chosen would *completely* freak out over the loss of a bridge for even one tiny day)!
I saw that on the news and wondered how many bloggers from Sydney would be on it. Lucky you being a part of history too as the first people to picnic on the bridge. How much knitting did you get done whilst having your picnic.

How fun. I’ve never heard of anything like that before. Here in Cincinnati we have a bridge that crosses the Ohio River (well, more than one actually)that is called the Purple People bridge. But it’s just for people walking and the ones that actually want to go walking on the top! of it. But that looks so much neater. And you got to knit! Always a plus.
That is just too darn cool. Would have loved to join the crowd. We climbed the bridge the last time we were in Sydney. So this would have been neat.
