Not just knitting

So while I was on an enforced, involuntary internet sabbatical, I caught up on a few projects, not just knitting.
There’s always a sewing project laying around waiting for my attention. Or five.
Emily asked me a year or so ago to make her an Amy Butler handbag. Specifically, the “Smart Handbag” from In Town Bags. And she wanted it in the exact same fabrics as the pattern. So, dutiful mother that I am, off I went and bought the fabrics, (duck egg/french wallpaper and pink/coriander, both from the Belle collection) and then I put it aside. And promptly forgot all about it.
Then I found it again early last week. And I kicked myself, because it really was easy and quick to put together.

It even has little pockets on the inside. And I put a magnetic clasp in it, too.

I just wish I’d gotten a photo of her face when she realised that I’d finally made it for her.
I did however, get a picture of my two favourite girls together. Yes, it’s a long overdue Twinkie picture.

And yes, she’s still voluptuous!

  1. You are so fortunate to be able to sew so well! I love the bag and material you used.
Twinkie doesn’t quite look like a dog….maybe a large rabbit? She’s adorable and looks so cuddly!

  2. Great bag! (well, except for the pink, but you know, since it’s not for me that’s ok!!!).
Twinkie looks entirely disapproving, as if to say “this is a most undignified manner in which to be photographed, Emily! People can see my…you know!”

  3. I love that fabric and the bag is so cute!! Now I wish my Mum is here with me all the time so that I can request her to make stuff for me!! Hahaha. Emily is a really lucky girl 🙂 Love the photo of her and Twinkie together. Twinkie looks sooooo cuddly 🙂

  4. Just the sort of project I like: one that seemed hard but is not, and is a joy to make!! Very nice photo, but I’m wondering if Twinkie was really ready for her close up??!!

  5. You’re back!
What a beautiful, very professional looking bag! I’m sure Em will get quite a bit of use out of it.
And Twinkie… if ever there was an indignant looking rabbit… Gorgeous photos of all though! 🙂

  6. The bag is lovely & I love your entrelac socks. I have been wanting to knit entrelac but everytime I knit of picking up stitches, I decided not to do it.
