Hello internet! We have a problem. We, here at Casa Del Random.
We need to do something about our Broadband account. Every month we use up all our bandwidth, and every month it happens earlier and earlier. We are in the process of doing something about it, but apparently none of the various telecommunications/broadband companies want our money.
But that’s why I fell off the internet. I have not been eaten by TAFE, but that’s another hardship I’m trying hard to endure.
You’re all here for the knitting though, not for my whining, so where was I?
The cap shawl is progressing nicely. Have I mentioned how much I’m loving these gradual colour changes? Seriously, they’re awesome.
I’ve now finished the boring bit in the middle, and there’s a little bit of action happening where the “Print of the Wave” pattern is beginning. You can’t really see it yet, but it’s there!
The Firestarter socks are half done. I really, really enjoy knitting this pattern, and the Wollmeise is just perfect for it.
Because I was a little absorbed in my shawl and sock knitting, Sophie got to work on finishing Elijah’s ear for me.
I’m hoping she’ll pick up some colourwork next!
And I’ve been trying really hard to be good, but I got a tipoff last week that there was a rare Monday Wollmeise update.
Turkis, 2 x Hortensie, and Ballerina, all in 80/20 Superwash/Nylon. And it was a miracle that I stopped there. Although it appears that I’m currently going through a blue/purple phase.
Oh the cap shawl is beautiful, the colour changes are magical!! Well done Emily on the ear!! I think the colours of the Woolmeise have a definite purply blue theme happening.
I think you should direct Sophie to your sewing table. Might give you some more time to knit up that gorgeous Woolmeise. Or send her over here to finish my socks.
That Sophie is very clever, but also kind of creepy looking. Don’t trust her!
oh god stop with the wollmeise already or im going to get violent. am i the only person in the whole freakin’ knitting world that NEVER gets an update!! and looking at those AMAZING firestarter socks doesnt help, they really are awesome.
Oh look at the Wollmeise pretties!! Lucky girl!!
Love love love the Cap Shawl, what is the yarn again (don’t worry, I’ll check on Rav!!) It’s amazing!
I love that color variations!
the cap shawl?!! Wow. I’m going to enjoy watching that grow.
I’m with Kylie. We are the only two who never get the wollmeise thing. Grrr.
Your broadband deal must be really bad. We live on the internet and never have that problem!
The gradual changes in the shawl are stunning.
Good luck with the broadband.
As for the Wollmeise gorgeous colours.
The shawl is looking good.
Gosh!the shawl is gorgeous. I really must knit a shawl.
The shawl is gorgeous & I also love the color changes. Next time you have to let me know of a Wollmeise update as I have not bought or feel one single skein yet.
The cap shawls is just gorgeous so far! … as is the sock, and Sophie is doing some great work on Elijah 🙂
I clearly can’t spell… “shawls” should be singular :0
Like Bells, we don’t have problem either with capacity. Son and DIL are World of Warcraft addicts and we are all seemingly permanently online. 80 gigabytes a month and we never run out or even start to slow down. Very reasonable price too for the amount.
That shawl will be beautiful finished, the colours are lovely, as are the colours in your Wollmeise.
Sophie, when you’re done with that ear would you like to come round and do the right half of Arwen?
Ohh the pretty! I love the yarns… and that cap shawl is going to be divine.
I love how the colours flow in the shawl. The gradual colour changes are stunning.
Bizarre with the internet stuff! Here in the US, local councils tender for cable internet suppliers, so you can only get the ONE on offer! (or you can get ADSL through the ONE local phone supplier, or satellite “cable”. For the spiritual home of capitalism it seems mighty odd.)
Nice yarn/projects. I might get a chance to visit the bricks and mortar Wollmeise shop next month!
The Cap shawl is gorgeous – I love the color changes.
Great sock – and amazing yarn – very nice!
