Still cabling

The Cabled Hoodie has not been forgotten. It does get put down a lot, in favour of other knitting, but it’s seen some action.

Not too far to go, and I’ll be putting it down to start the sleeves. I worked on it a little at WWKIP day, and again while sitting at the Knitters Guild Stall at the craft fair. As a consequence, there are some errors.

There were some miscrossed cables that have been rectified. But those red circles are marking two missing bobbles. I thought about it for a while, but recreating bobbles from two or three rows above is too fiddly for my liking. (Is it even possible?) And I don’t really want to rip it back, so I’ve decided to live with it. After all, I don’t have to wear it, and Emily hasn’t noticed it yet, so who am I to get all perfectionist about it?
Today’s bear is a little Polar Bear. I’m betting that no-one is really surprised to see a Polar Bear pop up in the collection, huh?

Isn’t he cute? Let me know if they’re getting boring.

  1. Donna, the hoodie looks beautiful. You are so clever. I can’t knit and yak at the same time without mistakes either. Never have, probably never will, LOL

  2. Isnt there a way to attach a bobble after you’ve finished knitting. It would be a good if there was. The polar bear is just adorable.

  3. There is no way your bears could be boring. I have a collection of miniature bears which bring joy to my heart whenever I look at them.
That is one gorgeous polar bear.

  4. I also think there has to be a way to attach a bobble after the fact.
Love the bears. I took sewing in middle and high school and I still have a monkey I made from a kit and a koala type bear that I made in crafts from paper mache and fur fabric.

  5. mr bear is most adorable
p.s. stick on bobbles are on sale at the moment – along with spray on thread for nut and bolts and sky hooks

  6. Definitely don’t worry about the bobbles… but if you’re going to worry anyway, you did it on PURPOSE so you could add on some pretty/sparkly/interesting buttons there, right?

  7. Lovely cables! I don’t think Em will miss the bobbles as the hoodie looks great. Your bears are gorgeous & I didn’t realise that on top of all the knitting & sewing, you make bears!

  8. I don’t think I’d see the mistakes if you hadn’t circled them – I’m with you – it sounds painful to try and fix it. love the polar bear!

  9. Love the polar bear – got a real personality!
Maybe you could crochet some bobbles and sew them on – if it really bothers you…it wouldn’t bother me!!
