I have to admit that I haven’t touched the bling-y bolero since my last post.
But I do have a finished project to show you.
Robin is done!
And as you can see, Emily is very happy with it. Apart from it not being quite as quick as I would’ve liked, so do I!
She very much wanted a pompom on it, so I used some leftovers to make it.
Specs:
Pattern: Robin by Kim Hargreaves, from the Thrown Together book. (Rav link)
Yarn: Cleckheaton Merino Bambino in shade 003. I think it’s supposed to be white, but it’s much more cream to me.
Needles: KnitPicks 2.75mm circs.
Mods: I knit it in the round, rather then flat, just because I’d prefer not to sew a seam unless I absolutely have to.
Thursday morning when I got up, the new Knitty was up. This may just be my most favourite issue ever. And I had all good intentions of working on the Bling-y Bolero, but I just couldn’t with all that prettiness there.
I love the Aeolian shawl, love it. I’m going to make it with my precious Mama Blue silk laceweight. I’ve already ordered some beads.
I also love the Shipwreck shawl, Reverie, Absinthe, Cachoeira, Sourwood Mountain and Flit n Float.
Seeing as I have to wait for the beads for Aeolian, I decided to use my long neglected single skein of Malabrigo Lace to start the Flit n Float scarf.
It’s biasing a little, but apart from that I’m really enjoying it. So much so that I’ve neglected every other project to work on it.
Poor Bling-y bolero!
That hat couldn’t be more perfect for her. I’ll bet it looks just as good on you.
I liked this issue of Knitty also. I’m tempted by Pioneer but it has the evil C word around the neck.
Lovely hat, very cute pompom!!!
I agree, it is just about the best Knitty EVER!! I have to restrain myself because I have other knitting things I must finish frst. Love the F&F!!
I agree too! Knitty has some great patterns in it! And the article about using handpainted yarns – wow! How cool were those mitred squares, on socks!
Em looks very happy in her beret. Teach her to knit her own bolero!
Love the hat. sI printed out that scarf pattern, too. It looks like a fun knit.
Robin looks sooooo cute on her! Love the color combo you used and the pom pom really makes it special. BTW, I understand that some of the Kim Hargreaves are currently being sold individually as PDFs.
I think it’s one of the best too. I haven’t really looked at the sock patterns, but I am INSTANTLY casting on for the Aeolian shouldrette – in silk merino fingering.
You didn’t mention decimal? I’m suprised. It’s my super favourite.
Wow love that beret, shes lucky to wear it so well!!
You ve started the first project I had picked!! I ll be watching to see how you go for I know i have toooo much on my plate to start yet….Actually Im hoping to spin some angora I bought in Wagin last weekend,Im also thinking of blending some silk with it,that said I have to get some more silk and then spin it up and dye the yarn…
I like this issue of Knitty too – I really love the Aeolian shawl – its on my list to make very soon.
The beret is very cute, and looks adorable on Emily!
Love the beret. Does Emily watch the American show “Gossip Girl”? Because it totally looks like something that would be worn on there (that’s a compliment!).
I really want to make Pioneer from the new Knitty, but there’s lots of other neat stuff on there too!
ooh…i love love love that beret!!!!
