Bushfires

I’ve had a couple of queries about our safety in regards to the bushfires currently burning in Victoria. Rest assured, I’m miles away. Over 300 miles away, in another State. And while there are a few burning in New South Wales, they’re miles away from me, too. We did spend a large amount of the weekend watching the news coverage. There should be a special, torturous punishment for arsonists.
But if you have a hug to spare, please keep fellow Aussie knitter Rachael and her family in your thoughts, her husband is missing, her home is burned. If you’re so inclined, a prayer wouldn’t hurt, either.

  1. I just had a look at Rachael’s blog, I cannot fathom what she is going through. I was watching Sunrise this morning and had to shed a tear at some stories. One man has lost his wife and 3 kids (literally cant find them). I hope they find their loved ones and it gets a decent bit of rain down there.

  2. Prayers said for Rachael and her family and all the other families caught up in this nightmare. Glad to hear you are safe. Jeanne

  3. Glad to hear you and your family are away from the fires. I saw a bit on the news, just awful.
I will be praying for Rachael.

  4. I’m so glad you guys are safe. It’s been all over our news here to. I just can’t imagine how someone set this fire and all the lives lost. I had a look at Rachel’s blog yesterday and I just can’t imagine being in her situation. It’s all so freakin’ horrible.
