I finally pulled my finger out and finished the Magic Carpet Ride.
Specs:
Pattern: Magic Carpet Ride(Ravelry Link) by Susan Pandorf. (Purchased as a kit from The Woolen Rabbit)
Yarn: The Woolen Rabbit Laceweight Merino in Moroccan Spice
Needles: 3mm Addi Lace
Extras: Seed Beads purchased from eBay. I have no idea what the colour is called, but they’re a rainbowish light Topaz.
I started this scarf on June 24ish, and finished it a few days ago, so around 3 months total, but it sat, ignored, for quite a bit of that time. I just didn’t have the lace mojo going on.
A close up of the beads.
But the colour isn’t great. This picture is much better in terms of colour.
And I’m very proud of my grafting!
See the line of plain triangles across the middle? That’s where it was grafted. I think that’s the best grafting I’ve done yet.
I still don’t think I’ll ever be fond of grafting in general, though.
Twinkie is unimpressed.
Looks great Donna! Love the colour and the grafting is fantastic – glad you said where to look as I couldn’t find it!
Donna, that’s gorgeous and the colour on my screen is simply lovely. I wouldn’t have picked the grafted area either … good one … done like a pro!
So pretty, love the beads! Couldn’t even tell where it was grafted til you said where to look for it. 😀
Well done!! Its gorgeous
Donna,
What a beautiful lace scarf! Great job.
Oh, Twinkie! How can you be unimpressed at this lovely shawl? I mean, if Donna hadn’t told me where the graft was, I’d have had to stare a really long time to figure out where the pattern’s direction switched. You really should be impressed, little rabbit!
Beautiful scarf! And the “rainbowish” finish on the beads is actually called “Aurora Borealis” but more commonly abreviated AB. (Yes, I do get the catalog from Fire Mountain Gems….why do you ask?)
And thanks for the birthday wishes, both for the short person and myself!
Wow that’s gorgeous! You’re a super fast knitter lol! The grafting (what grafting?) looks great.
Snow white looked beautiful!
Beautiful work.
It’s beautiful!! Your grafting job is perfect. Maybe Twinkie wanted a matching scarf?
Well unlike Twinkie, I am always impressed with lace. It’s beautiful! And that really is excellent grafting!
Magic Carpet Ride is beautiful. I really like the color. Twinkie is cute as always.
Gorgeous & you really did a fantastic job of the grafting. I can’t even see it until I read the next line telling me where it is. Gorgeous!
Looks fantastic! Reminds me that I have to get my lace stole out of the WIP pile and start working on it again!! Oh, and the boyfriend and I thought the Snow White costume is super!!
Please bring to snb on Saturday? I’d love to see it.
And when we’re there we can have a chat about grafting the fagotting stitch, which, for the life of me, I cannot get to work out right.
What’s up next?
Beautiful.
I so want to knit lace but I can’t imagine myself wearing it.
simply gorgeous! love the pattern and color….twinkie’s gorgeous too…..
Totally gorgeous. I had to have that kit and now it’s sitting in my stash. I have to go dig it out now.
Grafter extraordinare!! I expect there’s not much call for grafting in a bunny’s life!!
I just love, love, love Magic Carpet Ride. I love everything about it…. the pattern, colorway, beads… Twinkie is just fooling you, she really loves it!
That is gorgeous – really beautiful!
Hi Donna,
It’s great to see your knitting again. It’s as beautiful as ever.
I just had to get in touch as my D.I.L. just bought a gorgeous bunny, and we’d like to know how to house train him. Hopefully you can give us some pointers.
Thanks.
Sue.
lovely job on the magic carpet ride, and gosh your daughter is a chip off the (not at all) old block!
