When you’re knitting something, and it looks like it might be a little big, don’t just keep knitting on with blind faith in the pattern, mkay?

So, is that a new kind of hat. For the seeing impaired, or for those with Spidey sense? I think I have a similar photo of a child in an adult hat, but she was much younger than Em!
Oh no! I just had something like that happen too. I had to rip out a fair isle hat because I knit it with worsted weight yarn when the pattern called for sport weight. I finished the whole thing, even though I could tell it looked a bit large. Then I had to face the fact that it was unwearable! I know my project went wrong because I was stupid and didn’t read it close enough, but sometimes there’s no accounting for how something ends up gigantic.
at least you can just rip back and then cast off again, in the right place… right? Or am I being thick?
Turn it upside down and slap handles on it and tell everyone it was meant to be a purse all along.
OOPS! 🙂
:o) Yeah, so been there. Not with a hat though, but still I know the self-irritation when you realize you should have listened to your gut instinct about the size. Great colour though. :o)
well..bigger is better than smaller?? hehehehehe. that has got to be the cutest photo though!!!
I guess you can roll the brim up? LOL!

LOL! What a wonderful picture!
It’s a cute hat and a cute model. Looks like Em likes it. Can you felt it smaller? Or can you snip off part of the bottom, pick up the stitches, knit a row and Bind Off?
Nice beanie – you can fold up the edge & still wear it. The pattern looks nice.
Oh, that’s too bad. I’ve done the same thing before.
wupsie doodle… a tad to big… nice though!
Heh! I do that too!
Darn it. What an adorable hat…cute kid…you should so listen to your heart.
Knowing you, you can fix it in no time flat, but it sure is irritating when you have to.
Mmm! Well, it’s good for a laugh and so beautifully knitted.
Just a tad to long. It looks a lovely pattern.
