Angora Supreme!

The Angora Supreme sweater is done, blocked and being worn right this minute!

I like it, but I don’t love it.
The main problem is that I really need to stop being so lazy, and wash my swatches. It grew when I blocked it. Both in length and width. Before blocking, it was much more fitted, which s what I was going for. However, I am glad of the extra length in the sleeves, because they were a tiny bit short. The body is a little too long for my liking now.
But I do like it, and I will wear it, which is an improvement over many of my previous knits!
Specs –
Yarn: Cleckheaton Angora Supreme, seven and a half balls.
Needles: 4mm Knit Picks Options. (Recommended needle is 4.5mm, going down a size is pretty standard for me)
Pattern: Good old Sweater Wizard, customised to make what I wanted.
Overall 7.5 out of 10.
The yarn is sadly discontinued. I wish I had stashed more of it away. It’s lovely and lightweight to wear, but still feels warm. It has a nice halo, too.

The halo was hard to photograph! It also has the added benefit of excess bunny hair not mattering! Usually I’m constantly picking bunny hair off my clothes.
Saturday sky!

All week it’s been unable to decide whether we should have sun or not, and today was no different. It was nice and sunny one minute, cold and grey the next.
Fifi is powering along.

I would have her finished tonight, but we’re off to my nephew/godson’s 18th Birthday party. Where we shall zealously keep Em under guard from the 18 year old boys!!

  1. Fa-a-a-a-abulous, you yummy mummy you! i never wash my swatches either… and swatching occurs rarely anyway.so far the smotage by knitting deities has been acceptable.
And you could knit her an attractive bulky acrylic chastity over-all… that might keep them at bay. i dont have any suggestions for the long term emotional trauma it might cause her, but one problem at a time.

  2. You look fabulous in Angora Supreme avec Le Rabbit hair!!! Maybe is=f you washed it in really hot water it would shrink???!!!
I can’t believe how fast Fifi is: Wow!! Glad to hear Em thwarted Twink’s escape tunnel and that Em’s leg is feeling better!!!

  4. I think the Angora Supreme looks great. It seems that the longer length is becoming fashionable, so you’re right in style! What I love about your knitting is the beautiful colours you chose.

  5. It looks really lovely!! I’ll bet it’s so soft, and cozy to wear. That length is really popular right now, so I think you just look highly fashionable.

  7. Such a pretty sweater and you look so happy wearing it. I ordered the Fifi pattern on-line yesterday and I blame you entirely. 🙂

  8. Donna I think Angora Supreme looks great on you! And Fifi – wow, you realy are powering along – but do give us an update on Em’s welfare, won’t you!!

  9. Great job Donna. It looks great!! I’m getting to the point that I think I need to wash and dry swatches too, just to get an idea of what the yarn will do.

  10. Thanks for you kind comment Donna – you sure know how to make me feel special. 😉
Your latest FO is gorgeous and you look so nice in it! It’s a lovely, standard, wear anywhere, cosy kinda sweater indeed. Can’t wait to see the completed Fifi too.

  11. The angora looks great on you. My needles came yesterday while we were taking my son back to college, so I’ll be working madly on Fifi to try and catch up, but it seems hopeless at this point!

  12. Oh, I think it looks just fabulous! I like the length of it a lot. I am pretty lazy about washing my swatches too. It really does look great on you!
