Saturday Sky.

Saturday ground.

Raining again!
Startitis. It’s biting, big time. The cobweb shawl is continuing, I’ve done 31 out of 90 border rows.

I’m getting a bit worried about whether I’m going to have enough yarn. The end of the first ball is in sight, and I only have 6 balls. I actually have 100 yards more than the pattern calls for, but if I’m already running out of the first ball, that can’t be good, can it?
And the yarn was bought as an end-of-line colour from Jamieson & Smith.
I could be in trouble.
The Sirdar cardi. The back is past the armholes.

Sometimes I just love a quick knit.
And because I finished the Mother’s Day socks, I started a new pair.

The yarn is Opal Prisma, and yes, those are my Polar Bear pj’s. My old ones. Millers has new ones!
I’m using the Garter Rib pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks. It’s hard sometimes to find a pattern that compliments self stripng yarn, isn’t it? And I have quite a substantial little pile of self striping sock yarns.
Now I’m off to SnB for the afternoon. Is there a better way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon??
absolutely not! You have some wonderful knits happening!
Perhaps the yarn will use up less quickly once you get to the body of the shawl. The borders may be more yarn hungry.
Well, an S’n’B is great, especially on a rainy day. But it would be even better with a nice hot coffee (or tea) and some decadent cake or chocky. Easy to see I have a sweet tooth isn’t it?
I think ribbed patterns are the best for self-striping yarns – that or plain. But perhaps I’m still a little traditional with my socks?! Great knits, great progress (wish I could knit as fast as you!). Maybe I’ll see you next month at the Gong.
Oooh, I love the cardigan… just beautiful 🙂
Enjoy your Stitch’n Bitch! Isn’t the rain wonderful?
Heavons, you certainly can move quickly, you’ll have that Sirdar finished this week,
So glad to see some rain over your way!
You have so many pretty things on the needles! I agree about the shawl — maybe the border is taking more yarn than the body repeats will. I’ll cross my fingers for you. Enjoy your rainy day with your friends!
Wow, look at you go! You’re at about the same point I’m at on my Loden Mist and you just started yours! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you don’t run out of yarn for the shawl.
Wow, you’ve got some lovely things on your needles! Can’t wait to see them when they’re finished. Hope you don’t run out of yarn for the shawl…it looks beautiful so far.
Three projects seems just about right to me. The cardi will be quick, the socks will be fun and portable and the shawl will satisfy your need for challenging lace. I just hope you don’t run out of yarn for the shawl. That would be heartbreaking.
There is no feeling quite like that “Oh, am I going to have enough yarn and do I keep knitting to find out” feeling, is there!
Self striping yarn is difficult to deal with sometimes. Ribbed or stocking stitch – or the jaywalkers can look good too.
I wish it would rain here. It’s forecast, but so far no joy!
I like all the new projects. Love the rain too, wish we had some more over the weekend. I hope you dont run out of yarn for your shawl, cross fingers that you have enough.
jaywalkers, jaywalkers, jaywalkers… i have never seen a pair made in varigated yarn that I did not like. I think thye (Or any other chevron pattern) would be the solution in a pinch
try jaywalker!! they’re actually great with self striping yarns!!!
The sock pattern looks great with the self-striping yarn. I’m hoping you have enough yarn for the cobweb shawl.
You know your free ZigZag socks pattern? well..with your pattern….my sock wool…Cathy made up a pair that are gorgeous!! here is the linky..

I got some of that opal prisma..I do like how it knits up…if I ever get a spare minute I might have to knit up some!
Send the rain my way…would love more down here in Tassie.
Katt
I’m sending all the ‘please have enough yarn’ vibes that I can muster…… love the cardi, can’t wait to see that finished. I try not to look too hard at your sock projects as they just strengthen my feelings of inadequacy………
