Saturday Sky.

So, are you guys sick of random blue squares of sky yet?
Somehow, we seem to have skipped Spring this year and jumped straight from late winter to Summer. 30C (86f) today!
Thank you for all the good wishes for my mum, I’ll keep you all posted.
I finished something! Hooray, at last!

My dishcloth. I’m still having a hard time believing that people go to all the trouble to knit these pretty squares and then use them on their drty dishes.
I finished another dishcloth too, and got my parcel off for the Dishcloth Shuffle. It’s winging it’s way to the other side of the world as I type.
Am I the only person who has a hard time knitting for another knitter? Suddenly I have the hardest time deciding. On the yarm. the stitch pattern, everything.
I even blocked the silly dishcloth for the swap.
And speaking of swaps, I got an email this morning that the final parcel for my half of the Lace Swap arrived. How cool is that? Every single swapper played nice. Way to go, ladies!
And thank you to Ailsa, there is no way I could have run the swap alone and not gone completely insane.
The sewing? Well, I have been going to extraordinary lengths to avoid it. Procrastination is my secret middle name, I tell you.
I even baked muffins to avoid sewing. In the kitchen! With the oven!

Okay, it was a packet mix, but even that is adventurous for me. Honey and banana muffins. Lord, I miss bananas.
Let’s play spot-the-bunny.

This is where she has spent the past few days. It’s been pretty hot all week, so she’s been laying in the hard packed dirt in the shade, where it’s cool.
Oh, did I mention I’d finished something else?

Aren’t I mean, making you read through all that other crap before mentioning Cece?
She’s done! All done! Well, apart from the blocking. I’m much happier with the size now. I used this much less than 3 skeins of the Cascade Sierra.

Cutting it close. And this of course, means I started something new. Stay tuned!

  1. Oh dear, 30C and it’s only September! Hope Spring returns.
Nope, no matter how much my MIL tried to get me to use those dishcloths, I refused. Too strange for me!
CeCe is gorgeous! Hope all goes well with your mother.

  2. Banana prices be damned, I bought myself some today!! I am suffering banana withdrawal symptoms!!! They cost $1-60 each but that’s the same as a chocolate bar really!!
How cute is Twinkie?? Very: poor hot cross bunny.
Cece looks divine, will there be modelling????

  3. I am with you dishcloth = gross / washcloth or face cloth = really nice thing. Paired with a bar of soap a great gift!

  4. Now is it just me, but cece knit up super quick, one second she was a pile of unravelled yarn, I blink and she is all done and beautiful.

  5. Congrats on finishing CeCe the second time! It looks great! Can’t wait to see it all modeled. The lace swap was really fun and one of the best swaps I’ve seen done. I’m glad everyone fulfilled their end of the bargain! Thanks again to you and Ailsa for coordinating.

  6. Cece looks lovely and so does the dishcloth. I have gotten them as gifts and hung them on my fridge….its art.
can’t wait to see whats cooking on the needles next.

  7. I agree, I cant use those discloths to use on dirty dishes, I actually use them as washcloths in the shower, and they are so nice and soft. I cant believe the weather either, we have had high 20’s and then yesterday rain and hail and wind. Ugh! I miss the bananas too, but on Thursday the price is dropping to $8.99 a kilo at Aldi’s so I am definately buying some. By the way Cece looks great.
