So I got Cece up to a point where can try her on. And I’m not happy.

I’ve spent the night trying to convince myself that it’s fine, but looking at the photos, I can’t deny it anymore.
It’s too big.
I need to rip it out and start again.
I’ll be in the corner, blubbering.
*passing you the tissues*
Crap I hate it when that happens. I have a pile of blue gusto that I still haven’t re knit.
Cece isn’t trying to tell you to go and play with some new lace yarn or anything is she???
Ooooh, I’m sorry it’s not fitting. Hang in there. I’m at that point myself with Bonne Marie’s Sitcom Chic sweater that I’m making for my daughter: I’ve ripped it twice due to size problems. I can knit and follow a pattern well but getting stuff like sweaters to fit right is a additional skill (one I don’t have yet). A Cece that fits right is worth so much more than a finished one that doesn’t fit so just hang in there.
I hate when that happens, which is probably why I never finish anything!
(patting you on the back consolingly, and passing cup of strong tea…) that really stinks! I hope CeCe behaves better soon.
Love those beautiful rainbows. What a gift!! And the lace swap package wasn’t bad either… 🙂
*HUGS*
But it’s best to know that now, instead of after you were done. Right? Come on, I’m trying to give you some support here, work with me.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that… Hang in there Donna… Or maybe play with some gorgeous lace yarn first? 🙂
i know how you’d feel. at least you’re stronger than me as i will definitely start crying!!
(passing a glass, nay, a bottle, of wine) I’ll hold the swift for you
Nooooo!! Bah Humbug!! I hate that and there is nothing else to do. I know the woman on the new Knitty would cut it up and felt it, but that’s not an option really, is it???!!!
I am nearly finished the sleeve to the Cental Park Hoodie and I am at that point where I am not sure if it may be a bit small……..
Finish it, give it to someone special for Xmas
and , yes, start another one that will fit.
Are you sure you can’t fix it some other way? It’s a shame to rip out all that work.
oh bummer
After wiping your tears, just remember that you’ll love it even more because it will fit you just right. It looks like a pretty fast knit so the second time around will go even faster. I guess it does help to measure as you go….however, I find that the yarn often blooms and I don’t know exactly how much bigger it will be after I block.
I do hate that when it happens but if there is a consolation to it I would rather it be too big than too small. Why? Because you can tell yourself, hey I am smaller than I think 😉
Oh and you were so spoilt with your lace swap, very nice.
Well looking on the bright side of things, at least next time will be absolutely perfect, you’ve already had some practice. If you need tissues I am sure we can supply you with some. Happy knitting!
Oh dear, I hate it when that happens too. You have two options, give it to someone as a present and make yourself another,or rip it out and knit it again. I guess that doesn’t make you feel better, but what else can you do.
