Ene’s scarf is growing. Or shrinking, depending on how you look at it.

Chart one is done. (Take that Icarus!) And I’m already done to 339 stitches. The possum merino is really nice to knit with. It’s soft to the touch, but feels strong. I’m really enjoying it.
I will get back to Icarus, I swear. I love it, but chart one is driving me up the wall.
My artistic director approved all shots, btw.

I got mail! Nat sent me this cute sheep tile for my teacup.

Isn’t it cute? There may also have been chocolate in the package, but you’re all used to the chocolate not making it to the pic, aren’t you?
More playing with the new camera. (It’s a Kodak Z7590 for those who asked)
Here’s my white rose carpet.

And a Grevillea flower.

And a grevillea bud.

And here is why you should wear gloves when spray painting your kid’s tap shoes.

Em has dance exams this week, and after all these years, you think I’d know to wear gloves while painting the shoes.
Actually, Em is doing her Grade 6 ballet exam right this minute while I’m sitting here. She knows the work, she’s pretty good at it when she wants to be.
So why am I nervous?

  1. Hey Lace swappie! I’ve found the perfect yarn for you and it’s even made locally to me. But now, to decide on a pattern. How do you feel about Fiddlesticks patterns?

  2. Ene’s scarf is looking good. The decreasing number of stitches is going to help you feel like you’re making great progress. It is a lot harder to go the other way. I see you’re getting the camera figured out too. Pretty flowers! Love the Grevillea…don’t have that one around here.

  3. Your new camera enhances your already fantastic photo taking skills!!! I remeber my exams Em…hope everything is turned out and you are graceful and composed!!!
    Hi Twinkie!!!

  4. Your possum merino yarn is lovely! I’ve heard the cast on for this is a bear. Like you, I don’t usually like variegated yarn for lace, but this one is really beautiful.

  5. that grevillea flower is very cool! Your scarf looks all funny and scrunched up. But the pattern when it’s opened up is very gorgeous. Is the color closer to the first picture or the second?

  6. Congrats on being finished chart one on Icarus! 🙂 You rock! I got twelve rows done and realised I had forgotten a yarnover. Ugh! Ribbbbit.

  7. What a lovely rose, I did have a few of the same and other roses, that was until a few months ago when Tim decided to weed the front garden and took every rose out and threw away, I know I love him but I could have killed him that day. Now there are just weeds there. He reckons they were dead – it was winter – you silly boy.

  8. love the scarf and hope she does well! I remember ballet exams !! ahh the nerves – but judging from her flexibility I bet she’ll do well!

  9. Ene’s scarf looks great! Is that the one that you cast on “the long way?” If so, I know how you feel, as my Lace Serpentine has 303 stitches in a row…took forever to get the cast on correctly, and I live by my lifeline!
Good Luck to Em, but we know she’ll do really well. And I hope that you have recovered from the paint job! I meant to ask if you do your own nails — they always look so pretty.
