The miners are still underground. Today is the 13th day, I think. However, the horizontal drilling is done, and now they have to drill up for a metre (3 feet) and hopefully they’ll be free.
This morning I went into the city. It’s an hour train ride, and it’s a boring train ride.
But it’s good for sock knitting!

The first beaded sock is well on it’s way down the foot. I was tempted to try it on, but I was getting enough odd looks just for knitting a sock. Imagine the looks I would’ve gotten if I’d taken off my shoes and socks and tried it on.
Maybe I should’ve.
And a pic of me wearing the lacy cardi (Hi Evelyn!). I forgot to get someone to take one over the weekend, so it’s a mirror shot.
First I tried to take it in the bedroom, but I realised having the window behind me made for bad lighting. But see Twinkie down the bottom? (Ignore the dirty mirror!)

Just call her the Artistic Director.
The bathroom mirror shot.

I’m pretty happy with it. It’s knit in 5ply (sportweight) so it’s quite light, just right for inbetween days, when it’s not quite warm enough for a t-shirt.
Did you take time to smell the flowers over the weekend? Twinkie did.

Ssh. Don’t tell her it’s a weed.

Twinkie looks so funny sitting up right sniffing the ‘flower’ hehe

  2. LOL, that was my first thought, flower my……The cardi looks great on you. Can’t wait to start mine. We generally have cool summers except for a warm month or so, but it’s usually interspersed through out the summer. I read earlier on BBC about the miners. I wish they would get them out quickly, but at least at last reading, they were in good spirits.

  3. i like the socks and people look weird at me when off comes the gp’s and try a sock at work …..love twinkie stop and smell roses on list for the weekend

  4. The cardigan looks fantastic, and it looks great on you! A really good fit. 🙂 I love the sock. Maybe you should have tried it on. LOL
Hopefully the rescue continues to go smootly and the men are brought back to their families safe and sound.

  5. The pink cardi is fantastic! You look so cute in it! It looks very airy. Your socks are coming along too. I have tried on socks in progress in public. Yes, I got some strange looks but I think it’s the little pointy needles sticking out that scares people.

  6. I love your pink cardigan. It looks lovely, and the color looks great on you. Thank goodness the miners walked out this morning from that dreadful situation. They are so lucky to be alive. What a relief. I love your beaded sock too. What colorway is it.

  7. The pink cardi is gorgeous, looks great on you. I love the socks, I reckon the people on the train were thinking how lucky you were to have something to do on the boring train trip.
