My mojo appears to be back, and I was right. It was all the fault of this.

It’s a finished pink cardi!
Crochet and all, it’s done. I’m kind of relieved, because I’m over it now. My “shiny, shiny” syndrome has hit bigtime. When this kicks into gear anything I was holding gets dropped in favour of whatever new thing has caught my attention.
I also managed to finish the green scarf.

The colour just isn’t right. This is a gift for someone, although I must admit to a second thought or two. It’s so soft and warm. I will be strong! I’m sure it will be appreciated and loved where it is going.
I did knit up another quick item as a gift this week, but I can’t show it to you for two reasons.
First, the recipient hasn’t received it yet.
And second, I forgot to take a picture. See? Shiny, shiny.
I did start the beaded socks last night.

The yarn is Lornas Laces Shepherd sock in “River”, the pattern is HeartStrings “Beaded Faux Cable Anklets”. Here’s a close up of the bead work.

Pretty! I’m thinking that I maybe should’ve chosen beads with more contrast, but I’m liking it so far.
Anyone getting the idea that I haven’t got much housework and stuff done this week?
The miners are still underground. The rescuers are working very carefully to free them, because they don’t want to start another rockfall. It could be Saturday before they’re finally out and in the clear. Please keep them in your prayers if you’re so inclined.

  1. Shiny Shiny walk up behind me….shiny shiny oh oh oh oh…or something like that – Wasn’t that hazy fantazy? Showing my age – thank you so much for thinking of me (thought that snuck past)…..and thank you for my shiny shiny hat and Moggy Cat Bear. Too sweet – now if I could just get that hat off Kaela….;)

  2. Yay for the Finished Pink Cardi!
What gorgeous socks, the beading is subtle, but they are shiny!!!
Just heard on the radio the miners have a video link now ( they were napping when the rescuers saw the first pictures) and they have Ipods with Fu ( Foo?) Fighters and Aussie Country rock!!

  3. I will be watching to see what happens with those socks, they are gorgeous! I have been considering beaded socks but wondered if they might be top heavy and slide down?

  4. I love how subtle the beads appear. They sort of sneak up on you. I always love that in things when you think you have taken in all the information then suddenly, hello, hello, what’s this then?!

  5. What can I say? Everything looks great! I feel foolish already because the only thing I can say to your knitting is “I love” the socks, the cardi (even though I’m not a pink girl at all), I love the beads, contrast is good, but not always neccessary. These socks look so special – want to make some for me too? Please? ;o)

  6. The cardi is lovely – and I cant wait to see the finished socks, they are going to be great!

  7. Ooooh! Shiny! Lol! I’m that way too, which is probably why I have several projects in various stages of completion all over the house. 😉 If you don’t like the socks…I’ll take them! Lol!

  8. Hooray for finding your mojo!! The cardigan looks lovely!! I love the scarf and the socks as well. YAY for you!! 🙂

  9. C’mon Donna, show us how you look in the cardi! After all that crochet, you’ve got to wear it. I love the colors of the Lorna socks. I’m way too lazy to deal with beads! They sure do add a nice shine to the socks. Have you given up on the Socks That Don’t Rock? 🙂 Do you think it will make any difference if you did a toe up sock?

  10. It looks like that gorgeous cardi was worth the headache!
But I am really dying over the beaded socks. All my favorite colors…they are going to be so beautiful.

  11. Welcome back, mojo! Your projects are looking fab. And the beads look great; they provide just enough “shine” without stealing the show. You chose well 🙂
    Shine on!
