First off, thank you to those of you who have inquired about Tropical Cyclone Larry and it’s proximity to us, but it’s miles away. 2700 km, or 1700 miles away, in fact. So it’s had no effect on us whatsoever.
However, another Australian Knitblogger, Nat, is directly in the path of the storm and has evacuated with her family to a hotel. And to top it off, it was her birthday yesterday, so please go send lots and lots of good and happy thoughts to her!
The tutu made it’s debut yesterday, and seems to have been a great success.

Oh, the kid did okay, too 😉
She came second in her section!
Knitting? Just a little.

The cardi back is growing, I’m up to shaping the armholes. It’s not taking as long as I thought it would, but I don’t know if I’ll ever be a fan of using finer gauge yarn for garments.
The bottom isn’t scallopy, it’s just the way it’s been pinned out, otherwise you would have just seen a big rolled up piece of knitting.
And here’s Twinkie, who is still lost without her favourite sleeping spot. She used to sleep under Fuzzy’s cage, and she hasn’t found a new favourite spot yet. I love it when she sleeps like this – it looks like she has no front legs.

  1. The tutu looks great and the kid looks beautiful in it.
Cute rabbit, we are taking Ruby to the vet this afternoon, she keeps on scratching her top to nipples off and behind her ears. You just get it cleaned up and she does it again.

  2. Wow, that tutu is amazing! Em is lucky to have such a talented mother making her such wonderful dance costumes (and giving up knitting time to do it!) 🙂

  3. Em looks pretty in that gorgeous tutu. Gratz to Em for winning! Twinkie looks so cute with his leg poking out like that.

  4. Does seeing your daughter looking so beautiful in her tutu make all the work worth it? Great job! And, congratulations to Em on her second place award.

  5. The tutu is great! Congratulations to Em for coming in 2nd. That’s awesome!! 🙂 I really like the pattern in the cardi. It is very pretty. Twinkie is sweet. I hope she finds a new favourite sleeping spot soon.

  6. I’m glad Larry is so far away from you! I only heard about it this morning, and I admit, I’m not great at geography, so I had no idea if you were dealing with it or not.
Em looks lovely in her tutu, and you did a great job on both!

  7. You are a genius tutu maker! Emily is so lucky to have a super sewing mom! Her costumes are always gorgeous.

  8. c’est magnifique!!! You are an artiste par extrordinaire!! I relly think she looks so much like you! Milly is very impressed! She says “we could knit a tutu for her…??”

  11. It makes all the work worth it when you see Em in her tutu!!! She looks very Prima Ballerina!! Cardiagn looks excellent, I’m a big fan of little wool!! Twinkie is in, what we like to call, the ‘Frog’ position. The Labradors like to rest like this too!!!

  12. Emily and Donna both please take sweeping bows (Em you may do ballerina curtsey) – you two make a formidable team. Congratulations both of you and best of luck in the Easter Show entry.
