Hooray for school! The interminable summer holidays are finally over, and Em returned to school this morning. I walked back from the bus stop, and sat down in the quiet with a cup of tea.
Then I did a bit of housework and sewing, with plans for a nice quiet afternoon of knitting until it was time to pick Em up. That all went sour as soon as the temperature started climbing. It’s hot again, stinking hot, so little knitting was accomplished.
I got to hold the TV remote though!
Twinkie was hot too, and let us dribble cool water over her head until she looked like she had lovely little curls on her head.
Then she actually posed for the camera. As soon as I pointed it at her, she sat up straighter and showed me her good side.
The sleeves are growing. I only have 15 or so rows until I reach the raglan shaping.
I also got some 2mm bamboo circs from Donni at Moggy and Me, so hopefully the Trekking XXL socks will move along more quickly now. I really wasn’t enjoying the Inox metal circs, and these Crystal Palace bamboos are so much nicer. Hopefully I’ll like the two-socks-2-circs technique now!
Poor Em, i never looked forward to the first day of school. Twinkie looks so cute, poor thing wearing a coat like that on a day like today.
I’m sorry, but that rabbit is just too damn cute.
(And I forgot to comment on your last post, but I’m impressed with your dedication to your daughter’s tutus. Yikes.)
I may be the only mom that dislikes the start of school. I love it when my kids are home and we aren’t ruled by the school calendar. Life is so much simpler for me during the summer.
We get frozen water bottles to keep us cool in the summer.
There are always mixed feelings when they go back to school isn’t there. Mine don’t go back till the 2nd week of Feb.
I can hear you celebrating the start of school from over here 🙂 Oh wait I think that’s me I can hear celebrating 😛 Either way enjoy the peace and quiet and keep cool
Another year on the way, how time flies, I bet most kids weren’t looking forward to yesterday.
I am enjoying back at work, as it has air conditioning, so I am not noticing the heat so much, I sat out side the office and knitted at lunchtime, it was really nice. I must think about taking holidays next year in a cooler time of year.
Yay! Glad you like them!
Twinkie is so cute even though he (she?) has a wet nose.. Btw, that tutu looks like loads of work! I never knew there were so many stages involved.. impressive!
*licks Twinkie’s nose*
