So today, after 9.5 years of being a stay at home mum, I re-entered the workforce. If you can call it that. Hanging around at Calico & Ivy, Chatting with the lovely customers, assisting them with their purchases and groping stacking shelves with gorgeous Rowan and Debbie Bliss yarns is almost too much fun to be called work!

The Rowan range.

The Debbie Bliss and Millamia. Still to come – Koigu!
Apologies for the blurry photos, the iPhone wasn’t co operative today. And on my trip to work, I worked on my Shur’tugal socks for the Super Special Six Pattern Sock Club 2011.

Disappointing! The yarn (MadTosh sock in Clematis) isn’t hugely variegated, but it’s enough that the pattern is obscured. Kris came into the shop today, and I saw hers – they look great. So I’m ripping and starting over with a solid yarn. Maybe some red Wollmeise!
Such a significant change – I do hope you continue to enjoy the job. I’ll have to come by to see the shop!

Gald you are enjoying the work. The shelves look magic.
Dream job!! do they pay you in money or yarn??
yay for yarn groping jobs. hope you continue to love it. i cant wait to come visit. and yes, red wollmeise seems like a good idea. for anything, really.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! New job! How exciting! Sorry I couldn’t come to visit yesterday, I woke up on Sunday with a horrid cold, so I’m trying to take it easy. But hopefully next Monday will be a go-er!!
I think the sock looks good in that colour – but like Kylie says, you can’t go wrong with red and wollmeise!!
You get to knit on the way to work? That is my dream job right there!
Have fun at work! I think I would leave most of my paycheck there.
Good luck with the new job, it looks like a nice place to work at.
Good luck in your new job. Congratulations!
Congratulations. Just don’t take home ALL the yarn home!!
wow…how wonderful to work in a yarn store, and a very nice one too!
I’m so jealous. What a fab job.
So you mean they’re actually paying you money, not yarn, to work there? And you get to touch all that lovely yarn? Talk about knitting? Suckers!
Ohhhh you are so right… that is not work !!!! ;D
Hmm.. Koigu you say, I think I must come in for a sticky VERY SOON !! 😀
Hello Donna I just had a look at your earlier posts and yes totally agree, you have the most gorgeous young lady as a daughter!!!
You’re getting paid to grope yarn? Sweet.
I’m catching up and saw your year in review. I’m glad things have settled down. Sleepless nights are no fun and we’ve had more than our share in the last year or two. But things are getting better.
Love that bunny.
