Happy Days are here again!

See, what goes around comes around. In the second most recent post, I was having a serious case of the blahs, but I ended the post with "I think this means the next post should be bursting with lots of wonderful things!"

Then the next post was about the shawl placing at the Easter Show, and even apart from that, I've had a phenomenal week.

By the way, for those who were interested, this is the shawl that won the Shetland section.

It's stunning. Well, from what you can see of it. And in addition to being so fine, and beautifully knit, it's hand spun. I'm happy with second behind that!

Other great things, I got some wonderful mail from lovely people. The streetlight outside my bedroom window that had been flickering for seven nights, making it feel like we were sleeping in a disco has been fixed. (And fixed properly, not by me throwing a brick at it!)

I'm four rows from the end of Hyrna Herborgar

I'm hoping to finish it today, but we're going out in a little while, so maybe tomorrow.

And yesterday, I found out that Duran Duran are touring, playing in Sydney next Friday. I have no idea how I didn't know about this, but I didn't. I checked the ticket site yesterday afternoon, and there were only crappy seats left. I was pretty disappointed, and decided to think about it for a while before buying tickets.

Last night, after talking it over with David, I decided that it was better to go and have crappy seats than not go at all. I went online to get tickets, and they'd obviously released more tickets, because we're sitting in the second row. Second row, for Duran Duran.

I feel like I'm thirteen again! I was bouncing around the house for hours. What will I wear?!?

An awesome week! And finally, yes, Twinkie's still pretty.

I am sooooo jealous!!! "Please, please, tell me now!"

They might not have played a concert here, but did visit with fans at a local radio station a couple of months ago. You should have come here!

Oh I cant believe your going to see Duran Duran. I didnt think they still played anymore. Ah the 80's music always brings back such different memories for most of us doesnt it. 2nd row seats sounds great and I am sure you will be up and dancing away. The shawl does look beautiful and I too would be proud to have a 2nd place finish.

I think I've said this to you before over various enviable things you do, but you SUCK. (My inner 14-year-old is obviously green with envy, and showing it!)

Oh, the real issue is "what colour underpants do Duran Duran wear??" (yes, that was the big issue in Dolly magazine in the mid-80s. Unfortunately, I remember!)

That winning shawl was truly amazing. The yarn was as fine as the finest crochet cotton - amazing. But agree on the display - such a shame you couldn't see it's full beauty!

That was lucky about the tickets!

Duran Duran! Second Row! I'm jealous! The only time I ever got to see them live, I was way up in the nosebleed seats. On the up side, I got to see a couple of them escaping in their cars afterwards--by them being driven through the crowds trying to leave.

I think Hungry Like The Wolf is still my all time favorite song. Lucky you!

I do beleive in Karma. Now how to dress like a 13 year old. 1-I think you are all suppose to dress alike. 2- slutty comes to mind.
Dig out an old t-shirt, I know you have one somewhere. Mine are in the attic.
Second row, I hope you can get a picture, if they allow it.

Have fun at the concert. I was always partial to the Reflex or whatever it was called.

The winning shawl is amazing, just the thought of spinning all that yarn. Eeep, just the thought makes me tired.

2 rows from Simon LeBon?? You lucky, lucky woman!! :)

Hey, hey! A Second!! Congratulations and well done!! Specially behind something which does appear to be really special! Not always the case down here, and the display problem isn't confined to Sydney either, unfortunately. Although I must admit I've not seen stocking stitch from the back in public, LOL. Who does these things?????????

what will you wear? a very yellow, short ra ra skirt, with pink leggins and yellow shoes and a polka dot top, big sunglasses and a big bow in your hair!

ok that's what I would have worn (uh, maybe not) fashion might have been a bit different down your way!

Have fun though! I'm so jealous.

Well done on your second prize, you so deserve it! the shawl that got first is pretty amazing isn't it?

Happy Easter x

Congratulations Donna, you did a superb job with your shawl. Was first prize the Princess Shawl designed by Sharon Miller?

I am sure you'll have a great time at the concert how fantastic to be able to get second row tickets.

I'm so envious of your Duran Duran tickets! Throw a kiss to Simon for me, will you?

I wanted to call my daughter Rio. So it goes without saying that I'm jealous too.
