My Blog

December 22, 2006

So last night, after everyone else was in bed, I wrote a blog entry. Then my computer froze, so I gave up and went to bed.
Don't you hate that?
Yesterday was day one of the Christmas school holidays. Em decided to celebrate by burning toast and setting off the smoke alarm to wake me up. Only five weeks and four days to go until school goes back!

In knitting news, I started and finished Twinkletoes.

They don't look like much in that picture, do they?
But they look much prettier on!

They're a great knit. I knit them to gauge, and if I knit them again, I'd probably knit them a little tighter. The calmer has a nice stretch to it anyway, but they're a little floppy for my taste. Em loves them though.
She went to a costume party last night, as a Fairy Princess.

And she would have worn the Twinkletoes if I'd let her - fortunately I didn't as the party was out in the unfinished back yard. She has another party to go to tonight. If only I had half of her social life!
Then again, I'd probably just be tired.

The Lace Panel Sweater is inching along in it's progress. I've seamed the shoulders and knit the neckband.

As soon as I get over the Nundle sweater, I'll seam the shoulders and side seams!

I've gone back to working on the Spring Blossoms shawl. I've almost finished the eighth pattern repeat. If I was using Zephyr, I'd be almost done! But I'm using a finer yarn, and i really think it's too small, and I still have plenty of yarn, so I'm going to resist the temptation to cast off and keep going for at least one more repeat. Two if I can stand it. I'm at 792 stitches right now. We'll see how far I can get.

Twinkie hopes you're all enjoying the Holiday Season.

Really though, she's saying "I can't believe what you people will do to me for blog fodder!"

Love the toes and the doe (or do you call female bunnies does?)
Gee, my girls only have 10 days off for Chrismtas here. I like your holiday break better! Or maybe not, then I would have to keep 2 girls happy for much longer.

Donna,
Those Twinkletoes look great! You did my pattern a great honor. Do another repeat on the shawl; you'll be happier with the finished product.

xoxo,
Chloe

Twinkie looks so incredibly soft and cuddly makes me want to hug and squeez her. I had to laugh when I read you're counting down the days back to school, I feel much the same about my son being home. I love the colour of twinkle toes, they look great.

Any package yet? I am cleaning my desk right now, and I have the receipt from when I sent it - Oct 30th! GAH! WHERE IS IT!

And, I went into my stash looking for some yarn, and I realized I included it in your package. *Sigh* I'm going to be upset if all that great yarn is truly lost.

Twinkletoes are great! They were a fast knit, weren't they? I love Em's outfit! I really love the front of the lace panel - I'm looking for my next project (ignoring the lace cardi I've been working on for almost 2 years) and I want something with St St but some interesting details so I'm not bored to tears. Twinkie is just like a stuffed animal! I can't believe she let you do that to her!

Oh, the vacation schedules of just about everyone but the US! I'm jealous -- only got 5 weeks off for Christmas when I was in college, and I'll never get 5 weeks off again til I retire! Sorry it's a bit trying for you.

I'm sure petting Twinkie can calm a person down, though.

All the knitting is lovely!
