This is it. The day

This is it. The day is almost upon me.
Tomorrow my baby starts High School. I have been told that public displays of emotion are Forbidden. I must wait until I get home if I wish to get teary. How did this come around so quickly?
Little knitting done, I've been sewing, and the weather was abysmally hot yesterday.
High School. *Sigh*

Oooh, it'll be ok! That's how my Mum felt when it was my first day of highschool, adn I don't think it's gotten any easier. She never cried..in front of me, anyways. But, she did when I got my first job! Just warning you, it only gets harder! But, you'll feel so proud of her when she comes home from her first ever day of high school! Wish her luck!

My eldest (only daughter) starts high school in 2 1/2 weeks (Tassie, we start later), so I know exactly how you feel. It is always hard for the mums I bet Em can't wait to get there.

Hi Donna

I'm Lisa from sockmonsters and my daughter - an Em - started high school last Thursday - heart was in my mouth pit in my stomach as she went off on the bus (she wanted to go on the bus). You'll go fine expect the feeling of a brave new world and a journey to adulthood. Thanks for the pics on the Lorna's Laces.

Where, indeed, does the time go? My oldest is in year 5 now. The others are in years 2 and 4. It was just yesterday ...

My biggest surprise this year was on Saturday. It was then that I realised school went back today, not next Monday! I'd been planning another week of holidays, and with Simon at a conference it was not one I was looking forward to. So, an hour ago I walked them to school! Now I have to decide what to do with my day. Knit? Clean? Surf? Nothing?

And I felt sad when my little grandson started school last year. He's starting this year in year 1 at a new school. All the best to Em.
