Hardly any knitting done this

Hardly any knitting done this weekend - I'm still on the pyjama kick!
We went to Spotlight again yesterday so that the Empress would pick out a summer pyjama pattern. When we got there, it turned out that they had all of their sewing patterns on sale for half price, so I told Em to pick out a few patterns.
Simplicity has Lizzie McGuire patterns. Emily went mad, picking all sorts out. I restricted her to four or five, we went to the counter, stood in line for ages, got to the front.. you can see where this is going, can't you?
Lizzie McGuire patterns are not available outside the US. She was mightily disappointed to say the least. We went back to the Simplicity book, and sure enough, in tiny letters at the bottom of the page it says "Not available outside the US" Scumbuckets.
I hate that. In most of the pattern books it happens. The dress up costumes especially. So I came home, checked out eBay - the only Lizzie McGuire ones there are toddler sizes, scarves, or too big. (What's with an 8 1/2 being bigger than a size 12??)
I convinced her to pick another pyjama pattern, so I've cut it out, and I guess I'll sew that up today. I like to make her clothes - that way we can usually reach a compromise on the skirt lengths (not too short), where the pants sit (Not too low!), that sort of thing. Honestly, half the clothes in the shops will not be worn by my child. Not while I have a say in it, anyway!

I hate clothes shopping for my daughter! She is 10, and still loves Barbies and pink frilly things. However, the shops think 10-year-olds should be dressing like underage street-hookers. I can't sew and as a result spend a lot of time a couple of times a year searching for appropriate clothing.

Why are some patterns not available outside the US? Seems rather strange, given that children love to play dress-ups. Though as we (thankfully) haven't jumped on the Halloween bandwagon there probably isn't a huge dress-up market. But Lizzie PJs? I would have thought the show's marketing arm would try to get the merchandise into every country the show is shown in.

Does it cost a lot extra if someone sends them to you as a "gift" from the U.S.? If not, let me know and I'll be glad to get them and send them along. Maybe we could work out a trade for yarn if the money is too complicated!

Grown up clothes for little girls start far too early. I was looking a couple of years ago for clothes for my grandaughter then 1. How about hipster black denim jeans with diamente trim? Apart from hipsters on a baby and just how do they stay up, who in their right mind would buy that sort of thing. And off the shoulder tops in size 2.

Her mother is a trendy dresser but was horrified when I showed her

It's cool that Emily wants you to make her clothes! My mom use to make me stuff but I guess we just had such different taste that we ended up arguing. We are both very stubborn! I love PJs too!
