Not much knitting going on

Not much knitting going on in these parts.
It was disgustingly hot again yesterday, and while today was cooler, it was a busy day with housework, shopping and the like.
We were out tonight at another of my niece's First Holy Communion which was nice. Emily is at a slumber party - although I seriously doubt that there is much slumbering going on :)
As it has been too hot to knit of late, I did work on this.

I handquilted the ballerina and the edges and details, and did the ruffles and finishing by machine. I'm donating it to the Dance School for a raffle to raise money for the end of year trophies. I did the same last year, and the girls all want one. Including my daughter. Who I am ashamed to admit is still waiting. I'll do it, I swear. As soon as I have some of that free time I hear people talking about!
And I am in the process of telling myself that I do not need to buy enough Highland Wool from Elann to make a Ribby Cardi. I do not. I have enough projects. I have enough yarn. I do not have time or space for any more. I do not need to make a Ribby Cardi.

That is SO cute!

You know that once the HW is sold out you won't be able to get it again for a year. The price is so right. You need to make a ribby cardy. I am the little devil sitting on your shoulder. When you finally give in, you can say the devil made you do it :)

Crap, we're only supposed to buy yarn when we need it? I must have missed the memo. :P

(You know you want it. It's a really inexpensive sweater. :) )

I vaguely remember you buying some nice Paper Rose coloured Jo Sharp Silkroad DK for yourself which must be in your stash. Well by my calculations it wouldn't be a bad subsitution for the Peruvian Highland wool. You may just have to double check your numbers when you do a swatch and perhaps make the next size up to compensate. Also much lighter for Sydney weather - so therefore more practical and finally.....it's from the STASH!

(I'm trying to be the angel that is sitting on your other shoulder!)

You could just buy the pattern, that's the half satisfaction that keeps me going until it's sweater season. I just bought Rogue, and I'll not knit it 'till Winter, but the fact that I could at any time is enough!
But, you know you want to....

I'm just here to say, "I'm not sayin' nuthin'!" I didn't buy the Highland Wool, but did buy the pattern. I'm thinking of using my Peace Fleece or my 1824 Mission Falls wool, or SOMETHING or other from my stash, which is really beyond ridiculous at this point, especially keeping in mind that I only started this foolishness (knitting and stash-building) less than a year ago......*sigh*.
