It was a public holiday here today, so it&#8217;s like a Saturday.<br \/>\n<center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"100_3274.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/100_3274.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nThat little wisp of a cloud? It was the only one in the sky. Seeing as it was such a lovely day, we upped and went to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sydneyfishmarket.com.au\/\">Sydney Fish Markets<\/a> for lunch.<br \/>\n<center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"100_3268.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/100_3268.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nI had the seafood platter, David had Barramundi and Em had Fish and Chips.<br \/>\nYum.<br \/>\nWe also had an audience.<br \/>\n<center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"100_3270.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/100_3270.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nWe weren&#8217;t the only ones who decided it would be a nice place to have lunch, either.<br \/>\n<center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"100_3276.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/100_3276.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nAnd it&#8217;s October 1, which means that the <a href=\"http:\/\/southernsummerofsocks.blogspot.com\/\">Southern Summer of Socks<\/a> kicked off today!<br \/>\n<center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"SSSButton.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/SSSButton.jpg\" width=\"125\" height=\"101\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nI have chosen the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.magknits.com\/Apr06\/patterns\/slinky.htm\">Slinky Socks<\/a> as my first pair. I chose these for a couple of reasons.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a different pattern to use up some of my self striping yarns, it has an afterthought heel, which I&#8217;ve not tried before, and I&#8217;m going to knit them on two circs.<br \/>\nOnly one sock at a time, though. Last time I tried two socks on two circs, it was a disaster. And I hated it.<br \/>\nMind you, so far, this hasn&#8217;t been a total success.<br \/>\n<center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/100_3277.html\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/100_3277.html','popup','width=950,height=713,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.randomknits.net\/archives\/100_3277-thumb.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nBoth of those needles are supposed to be in the sock. I lose track, and end up picking up the wrong needle. Then I&#8217;m Magic loop-ing, instead.<br \/>\nI may end up back on DPNS yet. The yarn is Hot Socks, given to me by the lovely <a href=\"http:\/\/jesschocolateect.blogspot.com\/\">Jessica<\/a>. It has been claimed by Em, of course.<br \/>\nHere&#8217;s a better picture of the sock.
